overwhelmed

I ended up crying for almost half an hour. Hell, I haven't any idea when was it I last had such a cry. Guess all the past and present emotions gathered all poured out at once tonight. I'm still weeping a little now as I type. Am trying to cool myself down.

I was so bored! So mad! So frustrated! I don't even know what word to use. My parents insisted that I went along with my Dad to his friend's new place for housewarming. I really didn't want to, but they kept insisting. Damn! My mum wants me to go yet she didn't want to follow along to keep me company. So in the end I ended up there alone sitting in one lonely little corner for hours. All by myself while my dad was sitting somewhere else chatting happily away with all those uncle and aunties about topics not of my interest. I don't even know 99% of the people around and vice versa. They don't talk to me and vice versa. What's worse was that there wasn't much nice shows on TV. Stupid Korean love drama which ain't my cup of tea. Imagine sitting there for hours doing nothing when in fact you could have been home reading a book or something. Argh!!!!

Next time I don't wanna be seen at such "parties" again if I'm just gonna be ending up alone all over again. *sobs*

Even though I'm consider lucky to have an okay family, deep down I really hate my family though I never really express this out to anyone. Sometimes I really hate how my dad only has golf in his eyes and pays no attention to his children, wife and family. Money can never buy happiness. I may seem cheerful, happy, crazy and silly at times like some clown, in fact I am not what you think I am. I am a complete opposite. I shun away from contacting friends. I do not want to put on the act of being happy 24/7. I'm tired. I just wanna be alone even though I really know how bad such loneliness can get to you. It will be nice sitting by the coast or beach watching the sun set as wind blow across your face, hearing the splashing waves. That would be comforting now.

annalakshmi

17th Sept - Just now we [a few of Lisi's friend along with Jan] had a simple dinner cum b'day celebration for lisi at Annalkshmi. They have this certain smooth and greeny kinda lassi - think it's called Neer Moor Lassi - they blended the yogurt/butter milk with spices and some kinda leaves. It tasted so horrible. Spicy and bitter and yucky! But it does give you a tad of refreshness, lingering in your mouth. Still, I rather opt for the lemonade or rock melon lassi. [lassi: an Indian milkshake of thinned sweetened and flavored yogurt, but can also be made of milk or buttermilk]

It's a pity that we couldn't get to order food from the A la Cart menu for they only have buffet that day. But still it was really tasty. However I missed the dishes with cottage cheese in it [from the A la Cart menu]. It's double pity, no make that triple pity, for both Syndy and Peilin couldn't join us for dinner, for the latter had something else on while the other is kept prisoned at home by chicken pox. Aww.. poor gal! Nevermind. We shall all go back some other day for the A la Cart together once the poxy gal recovers! Hee...

- HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISI !!!

Pressie hunt turn Japanese lesson

Yesterday, other than getting my Biotherm skin care products, I was suppose to be out scouting for Lisi's birthday pressie [her birthday's just around the corner]! After walking about the mall aimlessly, I resorted to calling up Lisi to "force" her to reveal what's it she wants for her birthday. Some kinda friend eh? Haha.. but still that beats giving her something which might end up being some kinda white elephant. She didn't want to accept my suggested pressie choice: a pack of 4ply toilet rolls. Haha.. I was only just kidding her.
So that afternoon was spent mostly at the language section in Kinokuniya [bookstore]. Browsed through the different languages; Thai, French, Japanese, etc., trying to pick up a few words or two. I was totally glued to the Japanese books man. Saw a few good ones [was tempted to get one with CD help]. Ended up purchasing two books [Japanese related].

  1. Teach Yourself Beginner's Japanese Script (Teach Yourself Beginner's Script Series)
    by Helen Gilhooly
Learners are practically taken by the hand and instructed on Japanese script. Opening the door to the fundamentals of reading and writing, each book includes 100 line drawings, self-testing activities and exercises, and examples taken from signs, menus, and other real-life situations.
  2. Lonely Planet Japanese Phrasebook (Lonely Planet Japanese Phrasebook)
    by Yoshi Abe
For those interested in learning to speak basic Japanese, this guide introduces all the important phrases one needs during common situations. Ideal for both vacationers and business travelers, Japanese Phrasebook includes sections on greetings, accommodations, small talk, getting around the city and country, shopping and more.

Personally I think this phasebook is really good. I have another similar one from Berlitz, which ain't bad too. It's just that lonely planet's has got a few more categories covered which I found amusing in a way. *chuckles* Here's a few Japanese phrases which I thought might be a good idea to share with you peeps. ^_^

Discovery

Went to buy YOU WEEKLY [ 优周刊 ] today because JJ's the cover story! Hee~

However I gotta read it painstakingly for it's in Chinese. *shrugs* My Chinese is pathetic. Oh well, I managed to read through the few pages of the article. :) I was surpried to find out that the name he used before JJ was actually WAYNE. Geesha~ That's the same name as my previous guy [it had been a pretty brief relationship. Not really a happy ending, but who cares ]. Lucky JJ didn't use Wayne. JJ sounds so much better. Haha...

And speaking of Wayne, I was surprised to receive an sms from him last night. Asking how I'm doing for it's been a real long time since he heard from me. [for the last time I seen him was earlier on in the year] A thought came to mind, perhaps he might be having probs with his current gal so that explains the sudden sms? Haha... anyway I won't jump to any conclusion nor ask him about that for it's non of my biz. So it's just a few quick exchanges of SMSes asking how each party had been doing and any luck with jobs and stuffs.

End of the Tele-Mare!

Yippy Ai Ai Yippy Yeah! Finally it's over! You should have seen our faces on the last day at work. No more phone calling! *beams*

Thanks to this, I've got 2 ulcers on my lower lip. *ouch*And I almost lost my precious voice. But I had many cups of free milo and mocha/coffee while working there. The milo was really good. Mocha was nice too. It was so boring dialling up the list of people, sometimes I ended up calling my Godsis, Peilin, many times for the past few day [when we are at work]. Heard from her that Jay's coming to Singapore for his concert on the 27th Nov this year. Tickets are going at $68, $98, $128, $148. She's very keen in going. I'm half-hearted due to my budget. If indeed we're going, we gonna make sure we get the $128 or $148 tickets! Must get a good view/seat man! So guess there goes my salary from this job. >_<

*Phew* Lucky I managed to let the full time staff there know that I won't be able to help her with her upcoming telemarketing project. I lied that I found a full time job that starts the next following monday. Haha! I'm so happy! Yesh! No need to make anymore calls! But her face/voice was pretty black and moody after I told her this. Hrmp... Heck care. :p

At the end of the day, we gals had a mini celebration together. Went to beach road [where the so-called army market is, one level above] for our dinner. We had pasta and rice dumplings in peanut soup. yummy! Darn full man. Went up to the army market for a quick window shopping before we all head on home.

Tomorrow will be another start of rotting days once more. Haha.. But it's alright, I will be occupied with stuffs. [eg. reading]

Telemarketing

"Good morning/afternoon, I'm Angela calling on behalf of.... and would like to invite you to the .... Seminar on the...." You would hear me over the phone.

That's how my day started off. Can't say I love it, can't say I hate it. Still pretty neutral. I just took up a temp job as a telemarketer. Today is my second day there. I got this temp job with the help of Zen, Trix's sister. Thanks. But once this job's over [either this Friday or next Monday], I'm gonna thank God that it's finally over. Pray Friday's the last day! Lucky thing is the food around the area is great! Guess that more or less made up for it a little. Hee~

But it's really ironic man! I never ever really like nor even love to chat over the phone much with friends and family. And now I have to face the phone, use the phone, calling up a whole long list of people, conversing with them politely. Oh man, it's really a torture if the person doesn't want to pick up your call, always not at his/her desk, sounding rude or uninterested, etc. But what joys me is when the number dialed is no longer in use. Ha! Saved my breath talking to them. Wonder if is it due to my good conversing power that the full time staff sitting in front of me asked me to help her out with another telemarketing project two weeks later. Or perhaps it is because I'm the telemarketer that's sitting nearest to her table that's why she asked me about it? Oh bommer! Being the good 'O me, how can I possibly tell her straight in the face that I do not like working as a telemarketer again man? Oh well, guess I'm gonna be a devil when she calls me up. I will lie to her saying I found a job and have already started working. Haha!

smashing fun time by the beach

Boy am I tired. Just had a smashing great time by the beach [@ Sentosa] today with the usual vball [beach volley ball] gang and their friends. Saw new faces, new familiar faces, and familiar faces. So many faces. Even Flo was there too.

Leaving home, walking to the MRT station under the bright sunlight, i thought I would have a hot time sun tanning by the beach, but it turned out otherwise. Sky didn't seem all that happy when we shown up at habour front in the noon. It seem pretty gloomy. Lisi said that she's afraid Sentosa's gonna be jam packed with crowds of peeps for there's gonna be a Great Singapore Workout there. Being the usual me, I cracked up saying I know why the weather didn't seem that friendly around Sentosa. It's because of the Great Singapore Workout. All those sweat from the peeps working out had evapourated up into the air, and as you know what happens in the water cycle, hence the rain that's to be drizzled down would be the Great Singapore Sweat! Yucks, what a "joke". Haha... Anyway it did drizzled a few times later on at the beach. We heck cared about it, we were more interested in having fun, playing vball, than to take note of getting caught in the Great Singapore Sweat. Bring it on baby!

It was pretty crowded at the beach. It was SPH's [Singapore Press Holdings] family day event at one part of the beach. So many people. We saw a few of the Channel U's actor [Ah Ben] and actresses [Huang Shu Fang and 2 other whom I'm not sure of their names]. Hee~ Later on we saw Ah Ben playing vball with his friends further up in another court. He's like so slim and thin, slender waist too. >_< *jealous*

I didn't dare volunteer to group up with the guys to challange the opposing forces. I spent more time playing vball with Flo and the gals off court instead. Had 2 games with the gang towards the end of the day though. I'm still just as bad, acting like a vase and not budging when I'm in the court. Seemed all frozen up. Perhaps the guys were used to seeing me not move much in the court that they tend to help cover me up by running more to hit the ball for me. I even gave myself a nickname ever since we first started playing vball, i.e. Vase. Haha.. but it's okay, I will try harder the next time round [if I have more chances to play in court]. At least I improved when it comes to getting the ball over the net when it's my turn to serve. *victory*

Spent quite a bit of time watching the teams competing in the court. Our guys/gang have all improved, at least team work and coordination seemed to show improvements. May we all improve more and more, trashing our opponents, yeah! Guessed at some point in time Syndy and Flo got a little bored just sitting by the court watching the games, they started building a sandcastle, then a sandfoot, and a sandhand, then a sandface. I helped a little by gathering twigs that's to be the hair for the sandface/head and white stone for the earring. Haha... I must admit that the man in the sand looked pretty charming with the cool hairstyle I styled. *beams* While I was playing in the game, both of them moved on to creating a sandbuttocks. Haha.. which later evolved into a human back, with the sexy buttocks. I must say it looked rather convincing to me. Hope people walking pass won't mistake it for someone being buried [nude] in the sand with his butts facing up.

So all in all, it had been a really enjoying day for me for it's been a hell long time since I spend my Sunday by the beach. And it's been a hell long time since I met up with the vball gang by the beach too. Boy was I glad to see 'em all today that I got so cranky, like some kinda jester. ^_^
